Vikings or Norse, Scandinavian pirate and merchant tribes. A warrior people who have spent a great time in their lives in the sea. They conquered the place in the northwestern historical place between the 8th and 11th centuries. Along with the Viking raids, the monastery was destroyed. Dramatic and tragic narratives of the monks who witnessed the event and scattered throughout the world, surviving, created centuries of Viking fear and hostility. Under the influence of these narratives, which depict the Vikings as a vulgar, primitive, non-civilized tribe, in the agreement that Europeans remained indifferent to the Viking culture for a long time. The lack of written tradition of the Vikings makes it difficult to trace cultural traces. In contrast to the weak Viking image of Western sources and the negative Viking image in Western sources, archaeological data indicate the existence of a subtle Viking material culture.
